Our Principal
Principal Williams is in his second year leading Keith Middle School. He was born and raised in New Bedford and attended Keith Junior High School. Principal Williams possesses an affinity for New Bedford and the children in it. He believes that knowledge is power and that as adults we have the ability to give middle schoolers the tools, as well as the desire, to access that power through learning. It is the KMS belief that a safe school is a place where students want to be, and where students thrive academically. This is why KMS students are accountable for their good and developing behavior. We can reach new heights if every administrator, support staff, teacher, parent, and student is on the “same page” and willing to “move the needle” on academic success!
Our Vision
Keith Middle School fosters a community of self-motivated learners by empowering all students to attain academic success while becoming 21st Century global citizens.
Our Belief
We believe that learning sustains the human spirit.
Therefore, we value the intellectual risk taking of students as they engage in thinking critically about academic challenges inside the classroom and 21st century applications outside of the classroom.
We value the persistence necessary for students to strengthen their core literacy skills across all content areas as they engage in problem solving and demonstrate their mastery of grade level content standards.
We value the passion and motivation that each student will develop through his or her journey to become empowered learners.
Our Instructional Focus
A coordinated, whole-school effort to have Keith Middle School students demonstrate the ability to think critically through analyzing text in each content area as evidenced by their growth on STAR360 assessments and several internal measures.
